RSM reveals new office managing partner in Birmingham
Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has appointed Helen Brocklebank as its new office managing partner in Birmingham.
She will succeed Mark Taylor, who has held the position for over seven years and remains regional managing partner in the Midlands.
Having spent over 16 years at the firm, Brocklebank is a prime example of RSM’s commitment to investing in and developing its people; joining the M&A team in 2007 as an associate, she has since progressed through the ranks to become partner. She leads the M&A team in the West Midlands, as well as being the co-head of industrials and manufacturing within M&A.
She is an expert in delivering change and value for clients, specializing in mid-market cross-border deals. She has led on a wide range of transactions, including private equity and debt backed management buyouts, carve outs, disposals, acquisitions and capital fundraising projects.
The Birmingham office has doubled in size over the last five years from 200 people pre-pandemic to over 400 employees today and is now RSM UK’s largest office outside of London. Eight new partners have joined the office since 2020, the most recent being performance improvement and turnaround partner Ben Collett, whilst 70 trainees have been recruited this year alone.

Taylor added: “Being office managing partner for this outstanding team has been a massive career highlight and an absolute honour and a privilege. I have felt for some time though that the move to our new home at 103 Colmore Row was a key milestone and, once we were fully settled in, it would be the right moment for me to step aside to enable fresh ideas and renewal. I am very proud of the progress we have made since 2016 – and that is all credit to the amazingly talented group of people we have here. Helen will be a fantastic leader of our Birmingham-based team and already is a brilliant ambassador for RSM in the local market. I have absolutely no doubt that the office will continue to go from strength-to-strength under Helen’s stewardship.”
