Major regeneration plans to be revealed for Walsall

Walsall Council is set to announce the scale of its regeneration plans, as it secures £1.5bn of inward investment.

On Monday (November 6) the council’s portfolio holder for regeneration Cllr Adrian Andrew will reveal the transformative plans that will generate more than 1,000 homes and 4,000 jobs for local people.

The report to the council will detail long-term plans to build more housing, create jobs, support local businesses and attract investment opportunities. It follows developments already underway in Walsall Town Centre, Bloxwich and Willenhall, with Darlaston next on the list having been awarded £20m of funding to develop a long-term plan.

Cllr Adrian Andrew said, “The transformation of Walsall is well underway with exciting projects at various stages of development across the borough and much more in the pipeline. The economy is one of our major priorities and delivering regeneration is how we will drive its success.

“As a Council we are committed to working with partners and developers to promote good, sustainable growth throughout the borough and deliver a brighter, healthier future for local people. We have attracted substantial investment already and have ambitious plans for the future and I am delighted to be able to share the progress of these projects at full Council.”
