Nine Tile Choice stores have reopened for trading, after being acquired by Leeds-headquartered Tile Giant.

Around 40 jobs across stores in Coventry, Bilston, Walsall, Birmingham, Cannock, Burton on Trent, Kidderminster and Worcester have been saved after Tile Choice appointed administrators at Butcher Woods.

The firm ceased trading last week impacting more than 100 jobs and 19 sites including a 30,000 sq ft warehouse and distribution centre stocked with more than £5m of tiles across the East and West Midlands.

TheBusinessDesk.com revealed that Wolverhampton-headquartered Tile Choice had submitted an NOI by representatives from The Wilkes Partnership on January 11. It would have protected the firm from any creditor action for a period of around ten days whilst it attempted to find a way forward.

Matt Williams, chief executive at Leeds-headquartered Tile Giant said: “Today is an important day for Tile Giant, Tile Choice and its customers. Our focus will remain bringing exciting new products to market, coupled with brilliant customer service.

“We are starting with ensuring that all existing Tile Choice orders are honoured and fulfilled in a timely and convenient way.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to expand our store portfolio and nationwide coverage as part of our ambitious growth plans.”
