Electronic Business Systems directors

A Birmingham-based IT solutions firm has recently announced a new managing director.

Sandy Robinson has now taken on the role of MD at Electronic Business Systems (EBS) in Erdington as part of the company’s continued expansion drive.

Robinson became a director of the business in 2021 when she, along with long-standing employees Richard Bates, Simon Pritchard and Dan Price – took over the company in a Management Buy-Out.

As managing director, Robinson will be taking a broader overview of the business and focussing on day-to-day operations, while the firm’s other three directors will continue to lead their respective departments.

She said: “When the four of us first took over the business, my role was Client Services Director. But it’s evolved organically to encompass more general management functions, so this was a natural step for me to take. We’ll continue to make all our key decisions between the four of us, but my focus as MD will be on communications, recruitment and daily operations, as well as client services, to ensure we achieve the growth we seek in our current phase of development.”

A Shropshire law firm has welcomed a new member of staff to strengthen its residential property team.

Saffia Keegan joined Lanyon Bowdler’s Shrewsbury office when demand for the firm’s residential conveyancing services is growing.

Saffia Keegan

Keegan graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a first-class degree in law in 2017, followed by a distinction in the Legal Practice Course (LPC) in 2018.

She started her legal career in Shropshire specialising in debt recovery and litigation before moving onto a paralegal role at a Telford firm where she qualified as a chartered legal executive and solicitor in 2022.

She specialises in all aspects of residential conveyancing transactions including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity and re-mortgage transactions.

Keegan said: “I enjoy helping people during what is one of the most exciting, but often stressful, times in their lives. Buying a property is a major commitment so one of my key aims is to make the process as smooth as possible, so my clients can just get on with looking forward to moving into their new home rather than being worried about the legal paperwork. Lanyon Bowdler is a well-established and respected law firm here in Shropshire and I am pleased to be part of the team.”
