Green light for the construction of ten units in Tamworth

The site plan of the 10 units

Carter Jonas has obtained planning approval for Henry Davidson Developments (HDD) to construct ten new units at the Lichfield Road Industrial Estate in Tamworth.

The planning application received unanimous support from Tamworth Borough Council’s planning committee.

Spanning 0.77 hectares, the brownfield site, currently unused, will be transformed to accommodate units for general industrial, storage and distribution, research and development, and industrial processes.

The development will feature landscaping and adequate parking facilities.

Carter Jonas collaborated with various stakeholders, including the Lead Local Flood Authority, the Local Highways Authority, and Tamworth Borough Council Planning Policy and Delivery, to secure the planning consent.

Laura Stops, associate partner at Carter Jonas in Birmingham said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded unanimous consent from Tamworth Borough Council. Over the last year, we have worked closely with the project team, local planning authority and consultees in addressing all issues about the application. The fact that we have received unanimous support is a testament to a very successful planning process. We look forward to seeing the development come forward and provide employment opportunities for local people.”

Scott Davidson, managing director of HDD, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to develop this site and provide new jobs for Tamworth. The design of this scheme and size of units opens up a variety of opportunities to the local market, or for businesses from elsewhere to invest in Tamworth.”
