Merger completes for two contract moulders

Two contract moulders, Merriott Plastics and Talisman have merged together, forming a group with operations spanning the Midlands, South West, and South East.
Talisman, previously known as LGG Charlesworth until 2018, has a legacy spanning over a century, while Merriott Mouldings started operations in Merriott, Somerset, in 1938, and ICM in Rochester, Kent, in 1947.
The merger will create a multi-site, multi-competence business capable of providing improved product development, manufacturing, logistics, and technical support to customers.
The newly formed entity will be jointly led by Shaun Champion of Talisman and Andrew Lawrence of Merriott Plastics.
Lawrence said: “We are truly delighted to announce this historic merger, bringing both these industry names together in the service of our customers and for UK manufacturing, while also honouring the legacy tradition that has brought us together.”
Birmingham law firm Wilkes has facilitated the merger. Working on the deal was partner Rick Smyth supported by Lucy Freeman, a senior associate and Matt Hartas a solicitor, from the Wilkes corporate team.
Parter Mark Hodgson and Leighann Richards, a senior associate, from the Wilkes Real Estate team also helped with the merger.
Rick Smyth, partner at Wilkes, said: “We are delighted to work with Merriott again. This deal showcases our commitment to developing long-lasting client relationships and our capability to deliver significant transactions. By collaborating with our real estate and employment departments, we efficiently managed all aspects of the transaction, demonstrating our ability to handle complex, high-value deals for our clients.”
