Plans lodged for major extension to business park

Developer Langtree plans to seek detailed planning permission for the final phase of its Sapphire Court development at Bromsgrove Enterprise Park, originally home to huge brands Gymshark and Lounge Underwear.

Pending approval, three new self-contained steel portal buildings spanning 61,000 sq ft will be added, increasing the total units at Sapphire Court to 35, covering 160,000 sq ft.

The decision to apply follows the leasing performance of the development’s second phase, which is now 92% occupied.

Tenants include Booh Media and Elbagate, alongside various trade and commercial businesses

Josh Downes, group development director of Langtree, said: “Large, self-contained units with their yards are difficult to come by in Bromsgrove and we expect a lot of interest in the units if our plans are approved.

“We’re seeking a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating for the final phase and the development will include extensive landscaping and the provision of fast EV charging pods.  These features have proven very popular with occupiers, who are increasingly conscious of the need for their business premises to illustrate their wider commitment to sound environmental and social principles.”
