Business park expansion plans to fuel 1,400 jobs
FI Real Estate Management (FIREM) has submitted a hybrid planning application for the expansion and redevelopment of Drayton Manor Business Park in Tamworth, Staffordshire.
The project is valued at £70m and aims to create 1,400 permanent jobs and 659 construction jobs.
It is located four miles south of Tamworth town centre, covers 41.61 acres and includes 46,000 sq m of industrial, logistics and office space.
The redevelopment plans propose 168,500 sq ft of new BREEAM ‘Excellent’ industrial units, along with green spaces and ecological investments.
Other development plans include the creation of a wetland, tree planting and the construction of new foot and cycle paths to improve accessibility within the business park.
Upon completion, the gross development value of the project is expected to exceed £100m.
Tim Knowles, founder and managing director of FI Real Estate Management, said: “We’re pleased to have submitted our planning application for the expansion and development of this strategic site, which signals optimism for future growth in the area. As a team, we’re committed to investing here and are eager to breathe life back into the business park, uniting sustainability and quality to bring a new wave of opportunity to this established industrial location.”
