Networking lunch: hear from the pioneer of e-ticketing
Join us on October 3rd at Chapter, to hear from the inventor of e-tickets who started her journey as a 19-year-old student at Birmingham University studying engineering.
Mo (Melissa) Jones’ innovative approach began with selling tickets for her club nights over two decades ago, leading to the creation of one of the first e-ticketing systems.
She formed Ticket Sellers with Jimmy Hewson after other events asked her to sell their tickets from her Birmingham shop, with early clients including massive brands such as Godskitchen and Gatecrasher.
Phil Hayes joined the company in 2014 and became CEO in 2020 with previous experience including Head of IT at Dataforce UK. He led the business from the brink of collapse after Covid to the point of sale in May 2024, where it was acquired by Citizen Ticket in a significant seven-figure deal.
The merger combines the strengths of both companies, bolstering their offerings for major clients like Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds Festivals.
At this event, attendees will hear firsthand from Mo and Phil about their experiences, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the future of event ticketing in an increasingly digital world. This is a unique opportunity to gain insights from two key figures in the industry who have played a pivotal role in shaping the modern event experience.
