Developer gets green light for shared living project

Cordia UK, part of Futureal Group—one of Europe’s largest property development firms—has announced advancements in its Birmingham regeneration initiatives.
The company revealed that its first shared living project, Bradford Works, has received planning approval.
It will introduce Birmingham’s first shared living space, featuring 54 self-contained micro-apartments along with communal areas like lounges, kitchens, dining spaces, workstations, a wellness studio and a rooftop terrace.
It is an A-rated energy-efficient project, which involves refurbishing an existing building in the Jewellery Quarter and aims to provide affordable housing in line with the West Midlands Combined Authority’s guidelines.
Bradford Works will cater to young professionals, post-graduate students, and freelancers while maintaining the building’s key heritage features.
The update was shared during the “Catch Up with Cordia” event at the developer’s commercial hub, The Bank, attended by city officials, stakeholders, and partners.
The event highlighted Cordia UK’s plans to revitalise underutilised areas in the West Midlands by integrating modern residential and commercial spaces.
Another development highlighted at the event was the start of construction on The Lampworks, Cordia UK’s first build-to-rent project.
This development will provide 148 energy-efficient apartments, featuring A and B EPC-rated homes.
Andras Kárpáti, CEO of Cordia UK, said: “We are delighted to have welcomed our partners and stakeholders to The Bank today to celebrate these significant milestones. From showcasing our thriving commercial hub to marking the foundation stone laying ceremony of The Lampworks and announcing planning consent for Bradford Works, it was a pleasure to share these exciting updates.
“Our ongoing projects will continue to revitalise Great Hampton Street, and we look forward to sharing more about Birmingham’s first shared living scheme shortly.”
