£17m Birmingham industrial development gets the go-ahead

Barberry Industrial has secured planning consent for a £17m development at Quinton Business Park, Birmingham.
The 77,750 sq ft Grade A distribution and manufacturing unit, named Barberry Midbox 78, will be available for sale or lease once construction begins later this year.
Savills and M1 Agency are the retained agents for Barberry.
Acquired by Barberry last year for an undisclosed price, the site is the last available plot at Quinton Business Park, home to occupiers like Johnson Controls and Wates Construction.
Barberry development director Jon Robinson said: “We are very grateful to gain the full support of Birmingham City Council’s planning committee and we are excited to begin another outstanding speculative warehouse development.
“Our development of a best-in-class unit will help to address the ongoing shortage of new, high-quality mid-box industrial/logistics accommodation in the West Midlands. Our building is designed to enable businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and deliver financial savings across their operations.
“This latest significant investment by Barberry demonstrates the strong financial position of the company and our continued commitment to the mid-box industrial and logistics sector in key strategic grade A locations.”
