Chinese software firm targets Midlands

A MAJOR global insurance software provider has established its UK base in the West Midlands.

Zurich and Shanghai-based eBaoTech has opened an office Brindleyplace in Birmingham headed up by Andrew Wright, who joins the company after 20 years’ experience in the sector, including senior positions with SSP and TIA Technology.

Guido M Meyerhans, Managing Director of eBaoTech Europe, said: “We are pleased to open our new office in Birmingham and establish what is one of the world’s fastest growing insurance IT provider in the UK.

eBaoTech was formed in 2000 and in 2009 turnover was US$ 60m through organic growth. It currently operates in 20 countries with a global staff of 900.Current clients include Chubb, ACE, Chartis and Fortis.

“This strategic location will allow us to target many opportunities in the UK market,” said Mr Meyerhans. “It will also enable us continue to work closely with the large number of organisations already using eBaoTech’s products and services and we envisage the creation of 15 new jobs over the next 12 months.”

“The UK office will work directly alongside other offices in Europe and Asia to offer UK clients and partners access to the full global expertise of eBaoTech whilst providing localised services to our domestic clients,” he added.
