Apartment operator expands Rotunda offering

A SERVICED apartment operator has expanded its offering at a landmark city centre building in Birmingham.

Staying Cool is increasing its capacity at the Rotunda from 19 to 26 apartments, including three penthouses.

The venture has been backed by the city council’s investment vehicle Finance Birmingham but the exact value remains undisclosed.

The seven apartments, due to open next week, are a mix of one and two-bedroom units which were previously rented out privately by Urban Splash, the company behind the Rotunda’s renovation in 2008.

Managing director Tracey Stephenson: “Staying Cool recently celebrated its third anniversary…we felt the time was right to increase our presence in the city so that even more visitors can enjoy the Staying Cool experience.

“We’ve recognised that there’s a growing demand for serviced apartments and we have made the strategic decision to invest further to increase our presence at Rotunda.”

The company, which also has operations in Manchester and Barcelona, opened at the Rotunda in May 2008 following Urban Splash’s four-year refurbishment programme.
