Chamberlin eyes acquisitions to maintain growth

CHAMBERLIN, the Walsall-based specialist castings and engineering group, has said it is continuing to eye suitable acquisitions as part of its growth strategy.
In a trading update ahead of its interim results, the foundry group said trading in the first six months of the year had been in line with expectations.
“Order flow across core foundry activities has reflected predicted schedules and demand has continued to strengthen through the period,” said the group.
“New business development initiatives have helped to support the positive trading momentum. As a result the company continues to trade in line with current market expectations.
“The board is continuing to consider complementary acquisitions and sees further growth opportunities in the second half.”
The half year results to September 30, 2011 will be published at the end of November, when the group said it would issue a further trading update.
In addition to its Walsall base, the group operates castings foundries in Scunthorpe and Leicester, the latter producing mid-size castings with complex metallurgy.
Earlier this year , the group said it had seen a strong first quarter with work back to pre-recessionary levels.
