JSJS Designs plugs into B&Q

LIGHTING firm JSJS Designs today revealed a further boost from its deal with electronics giant Siemens which will see its products sold in B&Q stores across the UK.

The company, based at Birmingham Science Park Aston, designs, develops and manufactures home automation systems using its LightwaveRFTM technology which allows users to remotely operate everyday household appliances.

Following its licensing agreement with Electrium Sales, the UK consumer electronics division of Siemens for the re-sale of JSJS products under the Siemens brand exclusively into B&Q owner the Kingfisher Group, the company has received its first license fee order worth £300,000.

And it confirmed that it has also had its first order worth £275,000 from distributor ThreeSixty Innovation, a supplier to Kingfisher Group.

This latest order is to supply JSJS branded products including energy-saving light switches, dimmers and mains power sockets that complement the range of equipment that Electrium produces under license.

The products, which use the JSJS LightwaveRFTM Wi-Fi Link, can be controlled using smart phones and web apps from anywhere in the world.

The Birmingham company said that its products are already in store at some B&Q outlets and are to be rolled out across its 153 UK stores by the end of this month.

JSJS, run by chief executive John Shermer and chairman Mike Lord, has completed a £1m share placing to invest in sales opportunities.
