Oakland appoints new IT manager

COLD storage company Oakland International has appointed Clive Harrison as its new IT manager.

Mr Harrison, who will be based at the group’s Redditch headquarters, has previously worked in the automotive and computer service industries, with a focus on warehouse technology.

His main task will be to develop new technology systems to provide for the growth of the business.

Dean Attwell, Oakland’s managing director, said Mr Harrison’s experience would be key to the expansion of the business.

“His understanding of systems development in languages such as Progress, SQL, VBA and project and solutions management implementation will be key to the firm as we progress through 2010,” he said.

Mr Harrison said: “Oakland is a strong player within their sector, continually innovating, improving and delivering new solutions to benefit their customers and remain competitive; I look forward to applying my experience of developing and migrating business systems, and I relish the challenges that lie ahead.”

In the last year, Oakland has opened a new depot in Ireland and launched Oakland Distribution. Customers include key retailers and food service outlets both within the UK and Ireland.
