Jaguar Land Rover announces 1,000 new jobs for Solihull

JAGUAR Land Rover has announced it is to create 1,000 new jobs at its manufacturing facility in Solihull.
The company made the announcement this morning and said the move was in support of its plans to expand its model portfolio.
A statement issued by the group said: “JLR, the UK’s largest automotive design, engineering and manufacturing employer is looking to further expand its workforce as it embarks on its most ambitious growth plan in recent history.
“The company has announced plans to recruit more than 1,000 members of staff at its advanced manufacturing plant in Solihull. These posts are being created in support of the business’s stated ambition to deliver 40 significant product actions over the next five years thanks to a multi billion pound investment in product creation.”

The recruitment campaign, which launches with national print and radio advertisements today, is looking for production operators and skilled trades people.
The move comes on top of the group’s recent announcement for a new £355m engine plant on the i54 site in South Staffordshire and the £25m Regional Growth Fund settlement announced by the Government last week to support the advanced manufacturing supply chain in the group’s principal operating areas of Birmingham, Solihull, the Black Country, Staffordshire and Merseyside.
