HomeServe expands US operations

HOME service provider HomeServe has further expanded its US operation, Home Service USA, with the signing of a five-year agreement with Southern California Gas Co (SoCalGas).

The agreement comes just weeks after the Walsall-based company’s £9m acquisition of US-based energy services contract business, National Grid Energy Services.

Home Service USA will offer home emergency policies in Southern California and SoCalGas will charge its customers through its regular energy bills for the Home Service products.

SoCalGas is an energy and services company primarily engaged in the distribution of natural gas throughout Southern California with approximately 5.3 million residential customers.

HomeserveIn a statement to the London Stock Exchange today, HomeServe chief executive Richard Harpin, said: “This is another exciting development for our US subsidiary, Home Service USA.

“We are delighted to be working with SoCalGas and this agreement builds on our successful strategy to partner with gas utilities in the US and follows the recent announcement of our agreement with National Grid earlier this month.”
