Quartet of contract wins for viral games firm

A PRODUCER of viral and social media games has landed four new contracts including with well known price comparison website Confused.com.

Koko Digital, based at Keele University Science and Business Park, will this week be launching a new campaign for the website Cara’s Pocket Launcher.

This will be the third initiative Koko has produced for the site which this time involves firing their lead character Cara from a huge cannon, collecting coins as she flies through the air.

The nine-strong team is also working with Phones 4U on the launch of a viral game called Zombies Ate My Phone which is designed to be played on websites, blogs and Facebook.

The Rough Guides book series has commissioned Koko to launch its first iPhone game and Oxford Cambridge and RSA Examinations chose the SME to produce a range of Facebook apps giving teachers and students access to online tools and resources, as well as mechanisms to reach a larger social audience.

Managing director Chris Steele said: “The iPhone game for Rough Guides has just been featured on the App Store, so are confident that it will follow the same success as the viral version and help us to win more iPhone gaming projects.

“We are also hoping to develop our own games direct to the consumer, which we’ll be looking to launch sometime next year.”
