Healthcare group plans to create 80 new jobs

A HEALTHCARE group is planning to create 80 new jobs as it expands in Worcestershire.

Helping Hands Homecare is expanding its regional network with the launch of a new office in Redditch.

Such is the demand for its services that the group is looking to recruit a further 80 carers over the next six months.

Helping Hands has been working in conjunction with local authorities in the area for the last 20 years. The group supplies carers who conduct a homecare service from as little as half an hour a day right through to ongoing 24-hour live-in support.

From the William Street office four managers will work with 70 directly employed carers, acting as a day-to-day contact for families and ensuring continuity of care.

Kim Verity, Redditch client manager, said: “Being faced with the reality of organising care, whether for yourself or a loved one, can be very stressful, especially as not everyone is aware of the care options available to them.

“By opening an office in Redditch we believe we will be able to offer even greater levels of support to the local communities.”

Tim Lee, Helping Hands’ chief executive, said the launch of the Redditch office demonstrated the group’s commitment to expand its level of services.

“Our Redditch managerial team has a wealth of experience in the care services sector and when combined with our 20 years of expertise and the quality of carers we have already in the community, are ideally placed to offer a first class service to those in need of support,” he said.

The group is taking a two-year deal on a 596 sq ft at 6 Church Green West on a two year deal arranged through Redditch property agents John Truslove.

“It is terrific that such a caring organisation as Helping Hands is moving into Redditch and creating new jobs,” said Mr Truslove.

Founded by Mr Lee’s mother Mary Lee, Helping Hands was established in 1989 and holds preferred provider status for Redditch, Astwood Bank and Inkberrow for Worcestershire County Council. Regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) it maintains its ongoing “excellent” rating and is a member of the United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA).
