Palletways strengthens warehousing arm with new contract

STAFFORDSHIRE logistics firm Palletways has secured a major deal with national solid fuel distributor White Horse Energy.

The contract, which has been awarded to Palletways Fulfilment, the firm’s warehousing solutions operation, will see White Horse Energy outsource its entire warehousing and distribution function to Palletways.

Based at the logistics firm’s national hub in Fradley Park, Palletways Fulfilment will use its 100,000 sq ft facility to store, process orders, provide a pick/pack service, modify and re-work White Horse Energy product, such as wood pellets, firewood, briquettes and bulk pellets, ready for national distribution via Palletways’ nationwide pallet delivery network.

Stuart Fitzgerald, managing director for White Horse Energy said: “As our product is seasonal, we needed a logistics provider capable of reacting to significant peaks and troughs in our business.

“Having our stock located at the Palletways hub itself gives us the ability to action orders placed late in the day for next day delivery, which is a particular advantage when dealing with the time sensitive consumer market. Being able to respond quickly to consumer demand is one of our unique selling points and lets us stand head and shoulders above our competition.”

Garry Curtis, general manager at Palletways Fulfilment said: “Our new contract with White Horse Energy comes at an exciting time as we are really looking to develop and grow our offering through Palletways Fulfilment.”
