Axe falls on 45 jobs as manufacturer closes

AROUND 45 jobs have been axed at a Warwickshire panel manufacturer after it ceased trading.

Nuneaton-based Exitile produced panels designed to allow easy entry into ceiling voids and cavities where access is required for maintenance or emergency procedures.

Martin Coyne and Matthew Hardy, from Coventry and Birmingham-based insolvency firm Poppleton & Appleby, have been appointed joint administrators of the company.

Senior partner Mr Coyne said: “Exitile has fallen victim to the harsh economic climate and is, unfortunately, no longer a sustainable business.

“We are now working with the directors to fully assess the situation and are looking to progress things as quickly and efficiently as possible.

“There has been some initial interest in the business and it is therefore a possibility that there may be scope for continuity to the brand.

“We are working closely with the local Jobcentre Plus, who were invited and attended our meeting with the workforce upon our appointment, to offer support and advice to the former employees.”
