Taste of Business 2010: Profile

IN the first of our weekly profiles ahead of the Taste of Business event, Anne Parry from PR and marketing firm Freshwater gives us her thoughts on Birmingham’s food scene.
Name: Anne Parry
Job title: Managing director, Midlands
Company: Freshwater
How long has the company been based in Birmingham? 17 years
How many employees do you have? Six locally and 95 across the group
What makes the company different?
No other PR and marketing agency has the ability to combine a regional presence in England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland with such diverse specialist and sectoral experience including professional services, energy, transport, health, education, consumer, retail, local government, leisure, property and technology.
What do you think of Birmingham’s food and drink scene?
Birmingham’s food and drink scene has really come alive, particularly in the last 10 years, and we are now spoilt for choice with so many award winning restaurants, loads of creative talent and cuisine styles. There’s definitely something for everyone, it’s almost as though London’s style for food and drink has arrived in Birmingham and is here to stay.
Favourite place for a business lunch?
Definitely San Carlo in Temple Street for its great food, service and terrific atmosphere all year round.
Favourite recipe to cook at home?
Whilst I just love Italian out, my husband has a very traditional English palate, so I enjoying cooking Beef Wellington with a homemade chicken liver pate and I know just how to get the fillet ‘well done’ for him and ‘very rare’ for me!
