Thorite sets up shop in Brierley Hill

PNEUMATIC products and process systems distributor Thorite has expanded following the launch of an operation in the West Midlands.

The Bradford-based business has opened a sales and service centre in Brierley Hill.

Trading under the name LL Fluid Power, a wholly owned division of Thorite, the new centre provides full service and support facilities including a showroom, trade counter and extensive range of stock.

The centre becomes the tenth Thorite specialist outlet joining others in Yorkshire, Lancashire and the North East.

Stephen Wright, Thorite’s managing director, said: “With the opening of the Brierley Hill operation we are well placed to provide the best in pneumatics products and system design to a vital area of the UK’s manufacturing and processing heartland.

“Expanding into the West Midlands has been a key objective for some time and once the opportunity arose we sealed the deal very quickly in the run-up to Christmas.

“Although the economic climate remains tough, the world hasn’t ended in spite of the doom and gloom in currency markets, so we decided to go ahead with this latest venture which strengthens Thorite’s position as a national operator.”

Established in 1850, Thorite is a family-owned business that employs more than 100 specialist sales, engineering and administrative staff.
