Enterprise on the agenda at Black Country event

BUSINESS opportunities created through the Black Country Enterprise Zone will be showcased at a networking event next month.

The Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership is supporting the Forum for the Built Environment’s networking breakfast that is set to show off procurement and supply chain opportunities coming out of the Enterprise Zone at the i54 site in north Wolverhampton (left) and a separate site in Darlaston.

It is a Black Country specific networking breakfast that is being run through the Forum for the Built Environment’s (FBE) Black Country and Telford branch.

Guest speakers at the event will include David Storer from Arup, who will give a general overview of the new Jaguar Land Rover engine plant design. Keren Jones from Wolverhampton City Council, who will speak about supply chain opportunities linked to the i54 site and Wayne Langford of Black Country Consortium, who will talk about procurement portals and the opportunities they present for businesses.

Tim Hair, Black Country LEP Enterprise Zone lead, said: “We are delighted to support this FBE event which will showcase the opportunities both in the construction of the Enterprise Zone and also the supply chain it will create. I hope local businesses will take the opportunity to attend the event to find out more.”

The breakfast will be held at the Black Country Consortium offices in The Deck House, Waterfront in Brierley Hill on March 29 from 7.30am to 9.30am. Admission is £15 for FBE members and £25 for non-members.
