Telford developer creates 30 jobs after bank funds new scheme
A PROPERTY developer in Telford has created 30 new jobs after securing new funding to help complete the construction of an apartment block.
Established in 2005, Hama Investments Ltd specialises in property development projects across the Midlands, predominantly in the residential market.
In October last year the company purchased the former 1920s college building on Hartsbridge Road, Oakengates, to convert into 14 exclusive apartments.
It approached Lloyds TSB Commercial’s specialist property team for funding towards the £1.4m project and the bank responded with a £590,000 loan.
After being granted planning permission, the firm began the conversion into a stylish mix of seven two-bed and seven three-bed properties.
The first two show-flats have been completed and six units have already been reserved.
Hama recruited workers to the 30 positions to help the development take palace. The building now features luxury leisure facilities including a pool, hot-tub, sauna and a state-of-the-art gym, which are available exclusively for residents.
Angie Kousoulou, project manager for Hama Investments, said: “As soon as we found the old college building we knew that it was the perfect site for us to create affordable luxury housing for Telford residents, and the apartments have been designed to such a high standard that nearly half have been reserved off-plan.
“We were able to preserve the beautiful character of the old college building, and throughout the project the backing from the local community has been fantastic. We expect the site to be completed by January 2013, and we are constantly looking for investment opportunities across the Midlands.
“We would not have been able to undertake this project without Lloyds TSB Commercial. The bank was the only provider willing to support our plans, and its funding has been invaluable.”
