Taking place on Sunday September 9, a record entry is expected for the event, whose charity partner is Heart of England Community Foundation.
Rob Minton, race director, said: “We have a target of 1,500 runners and we hope many entrants will want to support the Heart of England Community Foundation – it’s a great cause helping local people and we are proud to be associated with it.”
Steven Baker, partner with Stratford-based Lodders, said: “We are very pleased to be sponsoring the race once again – it is something that Stratford has come to embrace and those who take part very much enjoy.”
Three Peaks no challenge for Dubberley & Co manager
ANDY Ainge, West Bromwich branch sales manager for Black Country estate agents Paul Dubberley & Co, has marked the anniversary of a family bereavement with a triple win – completing the Three Peaks Challenge.
Along with with eight friends, he raised £2,475 for the Cherry Trees Special School at Wombourne, where his late brother-in-law Patrick Cody worked.
Patrick drowned two years ago in tragic circumstances at Patshull Park in Shropshire.
Ainge said: “There aren’t really words that can do justice to what Pat meant to his friends. He was an inspiration. He still is.
“Pat found a vocation at Cherry Trees and I’ve no doubt he’ll be proud of all that we’ve achieved in his name.”
The Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in just 24 hours.
Paul Dubberley & Co has six offices in the Black Country.
Golf day success for business network group charity
BROMSGROVE Business Breakfast Club has held a charity golf day at Stourbridge Golf Club in aid of Mary Stevens and Kemp Hospices.
Jilly Edge, from Events With The Edge, a Stourbridge events management company which organises Bromsgrove Business Breakfast Club, said: “I believe we are the first local business breakfast group to hold a golf day and we intend to make this an annual event.
“It’s a great way of raising money for our chosen charities and everyone had a great time. Even the weather, which had been dreadful, was really kind to us.
“We were really pleased that local businesses played but others were also able to supply the prizes and sponsored items.”
Keith Harris, the winning team captain from Stourbridge company Appleminster, said: “I was delighted to put in a team and support this event and we’re looking forward to attempting to retain our title next year.”
DWT Legal of Kidderminster was the main sponsor for the day.
