Service Birmingham signs three year deal with Ideagen

SERVICE Birmingham has extended its contract with Derbyshire-based software firm Ideagen in a deal worth £220,000.

The firm has signed up for another three years with Service Birmingham – the joint venture partnership between Birmingham City Council and Capita. The contract was previously renewable on an annual basis.

Service Birmingham was set up in April 2006 to support the council in changing the way it uses information communications technology (ICT).

It now employs around 1,100 people and also manages the council’s customer contact centre dealing with more than two million customer calls a year.

Service Birmingham has signed a three year contract with Ideagen for the continued use and support of KnowledgeWorker, its compliance based information management suite.

KnowledgeWorker allows Birmingham City Council to comply with the requirements of the Local Government Act 2000 concerning governance of its decision making processes and the publication of meetings, agendas, minutes and agreed decisions.

David Hornsby, CEO of Ideagen, said: “I am delighted that Service Birmingham has agreed to a long-term commitment to continue to use our KnowledgeWorker software for managing this critical governance and compliance requirement for the council and its citizens.

“It further demonstrates our ability to deliver mission critical, compliance- based information solutions reliably and affordably to our customers around the world.”
