Duckers & Diving: Taylor-made for artistic success

THIS week our intrepid columnist explains why he’s now seeing less of well-known city accountant Tony Taylor and how he is swapping the tax returns for paintbrushes.

All change at the Taylors … that’s Birmingham businessman Tony Taylor and his wife Elizabeth.

Apart from fighting the flab – 24lbs lost so far (donations to: www.justgiving.co.uk/tts30at30) – Birmingham’s favourite accountant has been ringing the changes.

Gone is the reliable Citroen Picasso, replaced by a very snazzy drop top Mercedes 250 SLK.

Mid life crisis I hear you say … except the ‘boy’ is 60 on November 9.

Party time one hopes or rather more likely he is touting for presents.

Meanwhile he’s in the process of moving office to Bearwood – no option apparently as his Harborne address is destined for student flats, a boost to the pension fund.

He’d like to downsize if he could find someone to give him readies for his seven-bedroom stately home in Court Oak Road, also Harborne (having been there I can vouch for the fact that it is a rather impressive pad).

However wisely he’s not traded in the delightful Elizabeth.Duckers and Diving

The pair are off to Majorca on a painting course – has he finally got Culcha?

It seems Number Nine The Gallery boss Lee Benson, journalist Ros Dodd and divorce lawyer Diane Benussi have all previously cut their painting teeth on it.

Very impressed.

One Picasso gone and another one arrives!
