ORB snaps up TEDxBrum founder

THE woman who brought ideas-sharing enterprise TEDx to Birmingham has joined branding agency ORB.
Anneka Deva – the event co-ordinator, curator and licensee of the first ever TEDxBrum in March this year – has joined the agency which boasts the NHS, The Birmingham REP and Glide among its clients.
She moves from youth empowerment charity Envision.
Deva said: “I’m passionate about global issues, meeting, entertaining, interesting and inspiring people and sharing ideas to improve the way we do things.
“ORB ticks all of those boxes and I became drawn to them for my next career move after their MD Rob Bloxham gave one of the initial talks at TEDxBrum and used their visual thinking approach to generate ideas for Birmingham’s next revolution.”
Deva will work on business development, account management and workshop facilitation at ORB.
At Envision, she managed the alumni programme and events to link the business community with social action projects. Prior to that she worked as a business analyst at Xayce.
Birmingham’s inaugural TEDx event brought the TED spirit of ‘ideas worth spreading’ to the city for the first time. The aim was to spark deep conversations and connections, bringing together 100 people from different backgrounds from across the city to inspire both thought and action.
Deva is pulling together a team to organise the second TEDxBrum event in June 2013.
