Morgan Sindall picks up £42m worth of contracts in Yorkshire

RUGBY-based construction firm Morgan Sindall has won contracts for two major infrastructure projects in Yorkshire worth £42m.
The company will build a new section of railway track to relieve a bottleneck on the East Coast Main Line near Doncaster and work with Grontmij on a project to improve the quality of bathing water at Bridlington for Yorkshire Water.
Morgan Sindall chief executive John Morgan said: “We have a strong track record in the growth infrastructure sectors of rail and water and we look forward to working in close partnership with Network Rail and Yorkshire Water Services to deliver these important projects.
“We are focused on schemes which bring about improvements to environments and services and I am delighted that these projects will improve infrastructure for residents and visitors to Bridlington and for the thousands of passengers and freight services that rely on the East Coast Main Line.”
At Bridlington, the company will help build new sewer overflows as well as a storm water tunnel and pumping station as part of a contract worth around £22m.
The £20m contract on the East Coast Main Line will see Morgan Sindall work with Network Rail and URS to build a 3.2km railway and a six span viaduct.
