Software firm Delcam celebrates record December

BIRMINGHAM software business Delcam broke its one-month sales record in December following strong demand for its products.

The Small Heath company, one of the UK’s leading developers and suppliers of advanced software to the product development, manufacture and metrology sectors, saw increased orders for its software licences and maintenance contracts. This grew by more than 10% over the December 2011 figure, completing a record quarter to end the year.

The sales growth came not only from the company’s established markets in the automotive and aerospace industries but also from newer markets, such as the dental sector.

It said there had been particularly strong performances by its Beijing and Philadelphia offices, its Italian subsidiary and its Korean joint venture.  In addition, the year saw a large number of significantly improved results from Delcam’s international sales network.

This latest achievement follows the highest ever first-half sales performance by the company, for the six months to June 30, 2012. This continued a trend that saw the company set new record sales levels over five consecutive half-year periods.

Clive Martell, chief executive of Delcam, said: “December is traditionally the best month of the year for our software business and it is encouraging to see that we continue to set new records.  I am delighted that Delcam has ended an already strong year on a new high.”
