H T Brigham expands to meet demand

WARWICKSHIRE presswork manufacturer, H T Brigham, is bucking the sector trend by recruiting new workers to meet an increase in the company’s order book.

The new recruitment comes less than a year after a previous expansion of the business, which saw staff levels increase by 12% in order to service a major contract win.

The company, which has received £400,000 of new orders, has strengthened its production and engineering departments and has also invested £25,000 increasing space at its Coleshill facility in order to accommodate the increasing workload.

The firm said the revised factory layout would improve manufacturing flow, increase efficiency and responsiveness, while also allowing for further capital investment planned for later this year.

Barry Smith, managing director, said: “This is an exciting time for our company. We have had some significant order wins, and we have had to make considerable investment in our people and plant in order to satisfy this increased demand.”

He said the investment in skills would enable the firm to meet the demands of what it hoped would be a lucrative 2013.
