Higgs & Sons strengthens external relations team

HIGGS & Sons has strengthened its external relations team with two senior appointments.

Andy Ball has joined the Black Country firm as business relationship director and Kathryn Bates joins as communications manager.
 
Ball has many years’ experience in client relationship management at companies including NatWest and Santander. He began his career in London working for NatWest before moving to Birmingham in 1996 to work in the bank’s corporate and commercial team. He moved to Santander in 2009 to help build the bank’s corporate and commercial UK business.
 
Bates joins Higgs from a business development role at Irwin Mitchell, where her objective was to drive new channels of opportunity and build relationships. Prior to this she managed both online and offline communications for a number of organisations to develop, promote and enhance their respective brands.
 
Managing partner, Paul Hunt, said that by strengthening the external relations team, the firm would be able to reach out to even more clients.

“Effective communications with our clients is paramount. Andy and Kathryn bring many years’ experience to the firm and we’re all excited about what can be achieved through these dedicated roles,” he said.

Twin appointments for Anthony Collins

BIRMINGHAM-based Anthony Collins Solicitors has bolstered its built environment team with the appointment of Amy Walker as associate.
 
She first joined the firm as a trainee in 2004 before moving to SNR Denton LLP in 2007, where she gained valuable experience in dealing with high profile acquisitions, disposals and conditional agreements.
 
She specialises in local government and regeneration law. Her appointment supports the firm’s expanding local government offering, which was recently boosted by the appointment of associate Ben Smith.
 
Jane Trevithick, partner at Anthony Collins Solicitors said: “We are very pleased to welcome Amy back to the firm. Her keen interest and knowledge of the built environment, along with the variety of experience she has gained since training with us, will be an asset to our public sector clients.”

The team is expanding to meet the demands of the current market. Liz Wyatt, partner and head of the family team said: “Claudia will be a great asset to the team and provide a much needed resource for us. She has some great experience and a real passion for family law. Our clients will certainly benefit from her skills and enthusiasm.”

Promotion for Enoch Evans’ legal executive

DANIEL Greatrix, a legal executive at Enoch Evans has completed his conversion course and has been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors.

With four years of hard work and studying behind him, Greatrix is now a Solicitor within the Dispute Resolution Department.

Partner Andrew Pointon said: “We are delighted with Daniel’s success, it is richly deserved. Daniel has been a Legal Executive with the firm for many years. His qualification as a Solicitor adds even greater strength to the Dispute Resolution department, allowing us to enhance our offering to both commercial and private clients alike whose requirements are becoming ever more specialist.”
