Digby jettisons Flybe to focus on other interests

LORD Digby Jones has stepped down from his role as a non-executive director with low cost airline, the company has announced.

Flybe said his resignation was with immediate effect and the decision had been taken so that Lord Jones could focus on his other business interests.

The former Trade Minister is also involved with leading Midlands firms including Jaguar, JCB and Triumph, while he also has an ambassadorial role with HSBC.

Jim French, Flybe’s chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said: “I’d like to place on record my thanks to Digby for his important contribution to the board, in particular his commitment to the UK regional agenda and his support for skills training. All of us at Flybe wish him well for the future.”

Lord Jones has originally joined the Flybe board in April last year.
