Key Personnel sets up new PA networking group

A BIRMINGHAM recruitment agency is launching a new networking group aimed at personal assistants and executive assistants.

Key Personnel, which has moved into new offices in Waterloo Street, will host the first ever PA/PM event at Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse in the Cube on March 27. It is expecting to attract more than 50 Pas and EAs from across the region.

It said the idea was to attract a group of like-minded professionals keen to share best practice, pick-up tips and discuss the latest trends in the sector.

PA/PM will also give guests the chance to discuss issues impacting on their working life, as well as putting their companies in the shop window to potential new clients and suppliers.

Mary Hendry, Key Personnel’s managing director, has been the driving force behind the concept:

“PAs and EAs are a fundamental part of the business community and are often the people that get things done without all the headlines and plaudits that go with it,” she said.

“We wanted to put this right by creating an informal event where they could meet like-minded colleagues in a relaxed environment. This will give them a forum to share experiences, discuss current trends and the opportunity to inter-trade and refer new business.”

PA/PM, which is free to attend and held once a quarter, will also offer participants exclusive access to an e-bulletin, signposting to professional development opportunities and the chance to be part of a new social media movement for PAs/EAs.

Other plans involve launching a PA/PM LinkedIn Group and Twitter account, which will provide instant access to peer-mentoring and support.

Key Personnel, which has seen strong growth in the past year, works with a host of blue chip clients involved in professional services, procurement, logistics and sales.

The company has 30 years experience placing PAs and EAs throughout the West Midlands.
