John Lewis agrees Solihull festival sponsorship deal

THE Solihull Business Improvement District has tied up a major partnership deal with John Lewis by persuading the department store to sponsor its 2013 festivals.

The new partnership covers the newly-launched LOLIHULL Comedy Festival; Dance Live! in August and the Big Taste in October.

Shirley Sturzaker, Solihull BID Director, said the sponsorship deal was an important extension of an already-close working relationship between the two organisations.

“John Lewis has long been an active supporter of Solihull BID’s festivals programme,” she said. “I am absolutely delighted that they have chosen to build upon this spirit of partnership by becoming our headline sponsor.

“Solihull BID has a very small budget to deliver the festivals with, but we are aspirational in our thinking and this financial support will help us to extend the reach and profile of Solihull as a place to go for great live events.”

Julie Blake, Managing Director of John Lewis, Solihull added: “Our sponsorship of all four festivals shows how important we think these festivals are in continuing to establish Solihull as a great place to live and work.

“These exciting events will appeal to both residents of and visitors to our attractive and vibrant town, and our sponsorship also demonstrates our confidence in the BID team’s ability to help deliver continued success for Solihull.”

The BID has also secured sponsorship for the festivals from a number of other Solihull businesses with LOLIHULL also sponsored by Nando’s and The NEC Group, with support from Waterstones, Mell Square, Laithwaites and Solihull Arts Complex.
