Land Rover turns to Big Lol to help launch new Range Rover Sport in China

JAGUAR Land Rover has recruited some heavyweight support to help with the launch of the new Range Rover Sport in the important South China market.

The Midland-based business has appointed former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio as its latest global ambassador and he will accompany the vehicle as it debuts in Hong Kong ahead of a warm-up game for The British & Irish Lions’ tour of Australia, of which Land Rover is an Official Global Sponsor.

Dallaglio will be supporting the Lions as they take to the field of the Hong Kong Stadium tomorrow for a match against The Barbarians.

As part of its launch in China, the Range Rover Sport will lead the team in to the stadium and Dallagio will walk with the fans as they enter the stadium, sharing the experience with supporters across the globe on Land Rover’s social media channels.
After the tour, Dallagio, himself a former Lion, will continue to work with Land Rover in its support of rugby in the run up to and during the Rugby World Cup in England in 2015 where Land Rover is a Worldwide Partner.

“His exceptional career on the rugby field and his continued support of the game through his Lawrence Dallaglio Foundation Rugby For Change youth initiative is perfectly in tune with Land Rover’s Above and Beyond spirit and epitomises the inner strength that sits at the heart of Land Rover and the game of rugby,” said JLR in a statement.

“He will work together with Land Rover to support all levels of the sport from international through to grass roots.”

A range of Land Rover vehicles will provide back-up support for The British & Irish Lions operations on the tour, with vehicles being used in the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong and Australia. Land Rover will also look to share experiences of the tour with fans both in the UK and those following the tourists abroad.

Land Rover sponsors all levels of the sport, from the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup for under 11 and under 12 teams, through to Premiership Rugby and current Lions tour.
