Double contract wins for Big Cat

BIRMINGHAM-based full service marketing agency, Big Cat, has secured double creative wins. The agency, which also has an office in London, has been signed up by University College Birmingham (UCB) and ticketscript, Europe’s online self-ticketing platform.

Big Cat has been commissioned to deliver a creative design concept for UCB’s Further Education Prospectus, which will be used for the next two years, to encourage school leavers to continue education at the university. The contract was won in a competitive three-way pitch process against other Midlands agencies.

The agency will be completing a rebrand for ticketscript which is designed to appeal to a UK market. It will aim to encourage businesses to use the free online solution to sell tickets through their own websites, mobile and social platforms.

Anthony Tattum, Managing Director of Big Cat Group, said: “These are two very different projects that demonstrate our team’s ability to understand the audience and meet the clients’ brief. This double account win will further strengthen our design portfolio and show we are committed to delivering quality service to all our clients.”

Jane Smith, Marketing Manager at UCB, said: “The designs that Big Cat created were loved by the focus group of school years 10 and 11 which is why we decided to appoint them. They showed a clear understanding of our target market and we’re positive that our new prospectus will prove to be a success.”

Jenni Young, Chief Marketing Officer of ticketscript, said: “It’s great to have a UK agency on board to work with us on different elements of our rebranding strategy. We’re excited to unveil our brand’s new look and start building an even stronger presence in the UK market.”

Big Cat’s other account wins this year include; Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Cloggs and Holi One World Festival.

Visual Communications graduates set up new agency

Dan Cooper and Olly Sorsby, of adaptable BIRMINGHAM Institute of Art and Design graduates Dan Cooper and Olly Sorsby have joined forces to launch multi channel design agency, adaptable.

Prior to the setting up of the agency, co-founder Cooper was an operations manager for an online retail company, while Sorsby was a graphic designer with another Midlands-based agency.

Although in its infancy, the agency, which supplies project management, brand development and digital media services, has already secured a series of national contracts.

“We’re all about crafting brands and websites that work. As strong believers that less is more, we’re both passionate about solving problems through clear and simple design,” added Sorsby.
