Retail specialist joins GVA as a director

GVA has appointed Alastair Robertson-Dunn as a director of its retail team in the Midlands.

Robertson-Dunn, who has ten years’ experience specialising in the Midlands retail sector, joins the property consultancy from Robertson Brown, a company which he set up with partner Dominic Brown five years ago.

He began his career with Jones Lang LaSalle in Birmingham.  Following a move to its office in London, he retained his specialism in the Midlands retail market, representing institutions, property companies, developers, banks and retailers.

Robertson-Dunn will be involved with a number of high-profile instructions at GVA, including The Cube, Opus Aspect, Opus 40, Regency Wharf, ground floor retail at 2 Colmore Square and Fort Dunlop. 

He will also look after a number of regional shopping centres, including Cannock Shopping Centre and Castle Bromwich Shopping Centre.

He  said: “After five fantastic years at Robertson Brown, I realised that I was missing the corporate environment and felt that the time was right to move on.  I’ve been very fortunate to have retained a number of my clients from my time at JLL and Roberson Brown.”

New Barberry director focuses on growing portfolio

BARBERRY Developments has appointed Alex Watson as director with a focus on building the company’s commercial and residential investments portfolio.

The announcement comes two years after Alex first joined his father Paul Watson at Belbroughton-based Barberry.

Managing director Jon Bellfield said: “There is no doubt that Alex has the experience and enthusiasm required to develop Barberry’s interest in both the commercial and residential asset sectors.

“He will be looking at opportunities right across the spectrum, maximising value and making a significant contribution to the business.”

Watson joined Barberry in 2011 from GBR Phoenix Beard’s investment team where he acted for a range of private individuals, property companies and funds.

He previously worked at DTZ, both in the residential development and retail agency teams.

New associate director for Aedas in Birmingham

ARCHITECTURAL firm Aedas has announced the appointment of Egon Hansen as associate director. 

He will be responsible for strengthening the Birmingham-based firm’s healthcare portfolio at both a UK and international level.

Hansen will be based at the firm’s Birmingham and will be working on bids in Hong Kong, Singapore and the UK.

Hansen’s design career spans more than ten years and has gained considerable experience on a number of key healthcare projects including Alderhapy Children’s Hospital in Liverpool and the Prince Charles Hospital in Wales.
