Opticians looks to rebrand to reflect growth in services

BIRMINGHAM-based opticians Scrivens has rebranded to better reflect its expanding range of services.
The company said the exercise had been undertaken to highlight its hearing care services, which have grown following successful bids for NHS contracts.
In the past year, the hearing industry has undergone a transformation with the introduction of the Any Qualified Provider (AQP) scheme for the supply of NHS hearing aids. Following the extensive tender process, Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care has been awarded NHS contracts to supply NHS Hearing Services in 80 of their branches.
Nicholas Georgevic, the company’s chairman and grandson of founder Solomon Scriven, who established the business 75 years ago, said: “To date we have provided over 5,000 people with free NHS digital hearing aids under the AQP scheme and it’s this revolution that has led us to review our branding.
“From speaking to our customers they wanted clarity and recognised and valued the Scrivens name. It therefore made sense to bring both the optical and hearing services under the Scrivens banner, giving a more natural link to our high street branches where the majority of our customer interaction takes place.”
As well as the Hearing Care name change, the Scrivens Opticians brand look and feel has been refreshed to reflect the new name. A new website has also been created as part of the process.
