Style Birmingham Live reports 35% year-on-year increase in footfall

RETAIL Birmingham, the organisers behind the sixth Style Birmingham Live, which took place last weekend, have revealed the sell-out event attracted 337,000 to the city – a 35% increase on last year’s footfall.

The event involved six catwalk shows hosted at Town Hall, Birmingham, showcasing the latest autumn/winter collections from across city centre stores, presented by TV personalities Emma Willis and Rylan Clark.

Style Birmingham Live was designed by the Business Improvement District (BID) to promote and raise the profile of the city centre’s retail offering and encourage footfall into the city.

Steve Hewlett, BID manager at Retail Birmingham, said: “Style Birmingham Live proved once again to be a spectacular success.

“Retail Birmingham has received very positive feedback from both major and independent retailers, with many reporting higher Saturday sales figures and footfall into store as a direct result of the show.

“Feedback from ticketholders through social media has been extremely positive, with the hosts and the snow scene in particular proving very popular and highly photographed.”
