Alloy Heat Treatment eyes South of England as rival relocates

BLACK Country heat treatment firm, Alloy Heat Treatment is looking to capitalise on the relocation of a rival in the south of England by moving in on its former territory.
AHT said that following the closure of a major aviation firm offering heat treatment services in Bournemouth last year, many of the region’s manufacturing businesses had been left struggling to find suitable alternatives.
With the company having been the main provider of heat treatment in central South England, its decision to move operations to Spain has left a significant demand for the service which other companies in the area have failed to provide.
Already working with a couple of firms in the south, including NFF Precision, AHT said it was hoping to try and fill the void left by the former business.
AHT has established itself as the largest subcontractor for aluminium heat treatments in the UK and in doing so, has attracted up to 15 international clients from all over the world in the past 18 months alone, with products treated ranging from fasteners to landing gear and breaking systems.
Tony Rogers, director at NFF Precision, said: “The support from AHT to NFF has been excellent and their team has worked very hard to help us. We are very pleased to be working together with a business of this calibre.”
Ian Perks, sales director, AHT, said: “The only challenge we are currently facing is the transport from Dudley down to Bournemouth and vice versa. Due to the distance, transport times and costs are higher than usual. However, if the demand in the south of England turns out to be high enough, we would consider opening up additional premises in the area in order to provide local businesses with the same service we currently offer to our clients in the Midlands.”
