Marches LEP strengthens board with new appointments

THE Marches Local Enterprise Partnership has strengthened its board with two appointments, Peter Brown and Bill Jackson.
 
Brown has joined the LEP board as chair of the Herefordshire Business Board, with a broad responsibility to assist in promoting economic growth opportunities for Herefordshire.  He is chief executive of Herefordshire Housing, the largest social landlord in the county. 
 
Joining him is Bill Jackson in his role as chair of the Hereford Enterprise Zone.  Jackson was previously director, then chairman, of the Leominster Area Regeneration Company (LARC). He started his estate agency business, Jackson Property, more than 30 years ago.
 
Chairman of the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership Graham Wynn said: “They each bring a rich breadth of experience to the LEP that I don’t doubt will bring a positive contribution to the whole region.”

Charles de Rohan and Rick Robinson join the Innovation Birmingham board

TWO of Birmingham’s most prominent leaders in the technology sector – The Binding Site CEO Charles de Rohan and IBM executive architect Dr Rick Robinson – have joined the board of Innovation Birmingham as non-executive directors.

The appointment of de Rohan and Robinson completes the new board line-up, which follows the selection of Professor David Lock QC as chair – the first from the private sector since 2008.

de Rohan heads up The Binding Site, the Edgbaston-based manufacturer of immunodiagnostic products, which has more than 400 employees at its Birmingham headquarters, and a global turnover in excess of £60m.

Robinson is responsible for the development and delivery of smarter city solutions for IBM’s customers in the UK and Europe. He is a member of the Academy of Urbanism and a contributor to the World Cities Network, Sustainable Cities Collective, and UBM’s Future Cities Community.

Breaking Free Online brings in new operations manager      

BREAKING Free Online, the digital treatment and recovery programme which has offices in Birmingham and Keele, has appointed Victoria Clegg as its first operations manager.

Clegg joins Breaking Free from the Occupational Health department at Manchester University, where she managed a UK-wide occupational health surveillance scheme as well as developing proprietary research and analytical information.

Breaking Free Online gives people continuous access to a range of evidence-based interventions via desktop applications.

MWA Technology brings in new account manager

METER specialist MWA Technology has brought in Melvin Greenfield as an account manager.

Greenfield is charged with helping the Aston, Birmingham, firm meet ambitious growth targets of doubling sales in 2015 and he will play an instrumental role in fulfilling the requirements of distributors, contractors, OEMs and energy monitoring professionals.
 
He brings with him more than 30 years’ experience in the electricity industry, working with high profile companies such as Secure Meters, ABB and Schneider.
