New £3m banqueting centre opens in West Bromwich following funding deal

A NEW banqueting suite which can cater for more than 1,000 people has opened in West Bromwich following a new funding deal.
The £3m venue, Domain Plaza, is the brainchild of local businessman Jaswant Singh and his wife Jasvir Kaur, who also own Desi Sweet Centre – a business which manufactures Indian sweets and savouries. It was established in 1995 and has 14 shops around the UK.
The new banqueting centre, in Lombard Street West, is spread over three floors and also includes a ground floor restaurant. Funding for the deal has been supplied by Barclays.
Jaswant Singh, a director of the centre, said: “We are delighted to finally open the doors to our new venue following extensive refurbishment works. We are delighted that Barclays saw the potential in our venture and have continued to help us realise our ambition to provide a luxury facility for events here in West Bromwich.”
He said the venue had already secured more than 30 bookings, which aptly demonstrated the need for such a facility.
Manoj Patel, Senior Business Manager at Barclays in the West Midlands said: “Dhesi Sweets enjoy a strong brand reputation having been established for over 20 years. We are delighted to be able to support them with their latest venture which will see them offering a premier event venue in the West Midlands and will boost the local economy as they create a number of new jobs.”
The official opening takes place tomorrow (Saturday) when 400 guests are expected to join the celebrations.
