Envisage implements streamlining to focus on the needs of vehicle OEMs

COVENTRY engineering group, Envisage, has announced a streamlining of part of its business to better service the large multi-discipline projects.

The company, which works within the automotive sector, said the move followed the recent arrival at the business of new CEO Alastair Cattrell.

His arrival quickened a decision by the board and shareholders to invest in a restructure so the group was better aligned with the needs of its main OEM customers.

One of the key changes will be the move of the manufacturing division to specially configured premises at the group’s state-of-the-art Design, Engineering and Craftsmanship Centre in Binley. It said this would create a tight-knit cluster of integrated services for its customers.

The group said it had developed a healthy reputation for its vehicle design, engineering and manufacturing skills and it was keen to maintain these.

It said it was also recognised for the level of skills among its staff and their strong technical knowledge. Together these have helped to secure a project pipeline worth millions of pounds.

“The demand for this core part of the business stems from the industry’s success in creating global market opportunities for trusted brands with innovative high quality vehicles,” it said.

“The strategic move by the Envisage Group, which includes a significant shareholder investment, is a vote of confidence in the future.”

The intention is to complete the changes by early summer by which time the business will be well on its way to fully implementing its strategy.

CEO Cattrell said: “We are convinced that by concentrating our efforts on what we do best, we will continue to build a stronger business which will be in an excellent position to provide secure jobs moving forward and support customers in achieving their growth plans.”
