BHSF plans further acquisitions to support growth

BIRMINGHAM-based healthcare insurance and employee benefits provider BHSF has delivered a strong set of results based on good revenue growth.

The organisation said its investment record was excellent and this had helped push reserves to a record level.

The occupational health division, established in 2012, has been bolstered by the acquisition of OHC, the largest occupational health business in Northern Ireland, plus the trade, staff and business assets of Libra OH, based in Milton Keynes.

Group chief executive Peter Maskell said he expected further acquisitions in 2014 and this would help towards the strategy of achieving nationwide occupational health coverage.

Maskell said he also foresaw growing demand for BHSF’s range of employee benefits products, including salary sacrifice arrangements, simplified group life insurance and Flexsme, BHSF’s unique flexible benefits product aimed at SMEs.

He said: “No other company in our marketplace offers such a wide range of products and services and this gives us a real competitive edge.

“We take great care to ensure that we offer quality and value ahead of price and that customers continue to rely on not-for-profit BHSF to give them a good deal.

“With the improved economic outlook, and the forward-looking initiatives, products and services which we have available, I am confident that 2014 will be another very successful year.”

In addition to its successful business operations, BHSF remains a substantial supporter of the community through its corporate responsibility programme.
