IT security trainer relocates flagship course from Manchester to Malvern cyber centre

A LEADING information security training and education company has relocated its flagship course from Manchester to a new state-of-the-art facility in the West Midlands.

InfoSec Skills has opted to deliver its Practitioner Certificate in Information Assurance Architecture (PCiIAA) course from the National Cyber Skills Centre, based in the Malvern Hills Science Park, Malvern.

The move also means that, for the first time, the course will be offered as a live public class. It will host the course between July 28 and August 1.

The NCSC, which is supported by employer body e-skills UK, delivers training to businesses, education providers and cyber specialists in order to protect themselves against cyber-attacks. The centre was officially launched at the InfoSec trade show at London’s Earls Court earlier this month.

The PCiIAA course prepares the students for a career in security architecture, either within a dedicated security team or as part of a more general Enterprise Architecture team.

It also provides those already within these roles the opportunity to enhance or refresh their knowledge and, in the process, gain a qualification which is recognised by industry.

Debbie Tunstall, manager of the NCSC, said: “We are thrilled to be able to host the PCiIAA course and as a live public class for the first time. For InfoSec Skills to move their flagship course from Manchester to Malvern is a huge coup for the centre, Malvern, and even Worcestershire as a whole.

“The move shows that the centre is already putting both the town and the county on the map as a hub of cyber excellence and can only mean good things for the future, as more and more businesses, training providers and organisations become aware of our existence, providing a huge boost for the local economy.”
