Midlands provides six finalists for Business Woman of the Year Awards

THE finalists for the Business Woman of the Year Awards 2014 have been announced.

Seven businesswomen are in the running for the title with the winner set to be announced at the Women of the Year Luncheon and Awards at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel on October 10.

The awards, which are in their 32nd year highlight the achievements of businesswomen across the UK with the aim of inspiring others to reach their potential.

Six of the women shortlisted are based in the West Midlands.

They are Elinor Perry, owner and managing director of Warwick-based Pentland Accountants, Janine Nunn, joint owner and managing director of Birmingham-based Inex Homes Improvements, Kate Edwards, managing director of Birmingham-based J8 Precision, Lee Thomas, founder of Coventry-based events staffing agency Aesthetics Events Staff, Leigh Carnes, operations director at The Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry and Lorraine Holmes, chief executive of the West Midlands Manufacturing Consortium in Wolverhampton.

Jenny Campbell, Milton Keynes entrepreneur and CEO of YourCash, has also been announced as a finalist.

Awards chair Judy Groves said: “Once again we have seen a really high calibre of entries for the awards and there is no question that women across the country are doing great things in the world of business.

“The finalists are all superb business role models and I’m sure their achievements, skills and talents will prove to be an inspiration for the next generation of businesswomen.”

The awards are raising funds for three charities – Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Vitalise.
