Senior director quits Coventry Building Society

COVENTRY Building Society’s chief risk officer has quit his post. The society said Feike Brouwers had resigned for personal reasons.

Brouwers, who was appointed to the board of the mutual in April 2013, will serve his notice in full and leave the society on August 9. However, he will step down as a board director on March 31.

Brouwers has extensive experience of the UK financial services industry, having been Chief Financial Officer at ING Direct. He joined ING Group in 1997, having spent several years beforehand at Price Waterhouse. He performed a number of roles at ING, with over five years in the CFO position for ING Direct UK.

The building society has thanked him for his service during a period of transition for the organisation.

It said it had identified a replacement and they were expected to join the society in May.

The society’s Risk Committee comprises Roger Burnell (chair), Janet Ashdown, Ian Geden and Glyn Smith.

The committee assists the board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities for risk management across the society, particularly in relation to current and future risk exposures.
